Application Guidelines

There are no applications open at the moment. Our guidelines will thoroughly go through what we look for and our selection process. Our market is an entirely CURATED market, meaning that we select those who best fit our target audience, aesthetic and market concept.• We do not do “first-come-first-served” but rather review your style as a whole and the quality of your products.
• In saying that we do value quality, we are NOT a commercialised market looking for incredibly high-end products but rather, we appreciate locality and the comforting artist atmosphere. We aim for a cosy, connected market community.
What kind of products are accepted?
Mellow Art Market is predominantly known for being a stationery, sticker and illustration (e.g. prints) market. However, we are accepting of artists who do both paper goods and another craft form (e.g. ceramics/clay or crochet). We have not previously accepted artists who solely focus on crafts and merchandise (e.g. clothing) however, will be allowing purely craft-orientated stallholders for our MELBOURNE 2023 market only.
Accepted:
• Paper goods and stationery - including stickers, prints (of digital or traditional art), zines, journals
• Pins and accessories
• Crafts, ceramics, clay items, crochet, jewellery
Who should apply?Original creators - individuals who have their own their creations, original characters and brand are the most considered.
Fan artists - we allow fan art to a certain extent. Fan art should not dictate your entire art identity. We accept original creators with fan art to some degree.
Crafters - we allow crafters to a certain extent. We are accepting of artists who do both paper goods and another craft form (e.g. ceramics/clay or crochet). We have not previously accepted artists who solely focus on crafts alone but will be for our Melbourne 2023 event.
Table Sharing
We accept table sharing for two individual artists/brands.
You do not need to submit two individual forms - our form has a section for Stall holder B included.
Please note, if you have submitted an individual application for yourself, you may select the option for us to offer you a half table where we pair you with another creator.
This is an option for:
A) You are a first time stall-holder and want to test the waters of a market but do not want to commit to a full table.
B) You feel like you are unable to fill a whole table.
C) As a back-up option if we do not offer you a full table due to quantity limitations.
Guidelines
Please be ready to give us a short paragraph explaining your brand. Applicants will need to prepare 5 product photos that showcase what they will be selling on the day.
If you are an applicant that is currently having their product in manufacturing, and the product is not physically here to take images of, it is acceptable to send us the artwork/product with a description of what your product will look like. Please name your products with your art brand/name and a number. E.g. mellow-1 , mellow-2 , mellow-3Please meet the application concept - Mellow aims to bring a fun theme to each market which may have its own specific requirement e.g. Christmas Market requiring Christmas products. Please read and understand the concept of the market.• Mellow Art Market: Winter in Sydney 2023 - a dreamy, cosy yet celestial market• Mellow Art Market: Spring in Melbourne 2023 - a warm, heartfelt yet fun marketYour application may be unsuccessful due to the following reasons:Reselling of other artworks and brands - we allow fan art but do not allow the re-selling of other's art, brands, companies unless special permission has been grantedPlagiarised artwork — we are a large supporter for artists and their original styles thus, products that heavily appear to be plagiarised/claimed as their own original art will be deniedNSFW, AI artwork or anything that is deemed offensive or has underlying prejudiceHowever, the main reason for unsuccessful applications is due to limitations on our end. Our venue is unable to hold a large number of stallholders and unfortunately, we have to turn away talented artists every market. We hope that this does not discourage artists to continue to apply as with each Mellow Market, we hope to make it larger and more accessible for all.Notification of Acceptance:
